#98. Floetry by JulietKego: Heartbreak (In slow motion)…

Heart break

#98. Heatbreak, in slow motion.

And in my left hand
an intricately patterned
Russian crystal wine-glass
half-filled, half-empty
with fine, tangy red wine
I am floating away
from myself

watching it
fall with a loud start
(in slow motion)
and as the pieces
splinter apart
first hitting the oriental vases
then embraced in a thud hug
by the plush Persian rug
I realized (in slow motion)
The red colour I see
is someone’s soul
The sound I hear,
Is really a heart
And with an ache
I find out too late
that the person is me.
