#IStandWithAhmed #94. Floetry by JulietKego: Tick, Tock, Tick….

Clock Ahmed Mohammed‪#‎IStand4Ahmed‬ #Poetry4Change #AllLivesMatter

Tick, Tock, Tick…
Clock’s ticking for you and I
It pulses with the dark sounds
of our biases and prejudices
for the things
we know not
For the truths we forgot

and for the ones among us
Who do not look like us
We fear their reflections
Unaware that they are of us
Of one being, one source
Tick, tock, tick

Clocks and bombs
Cutting off bonds
Ties broken
Trust shattered
Humanity lost
In creation
of a tick-tock-tick clock;
Our time-bomb of fear
Explodes!

You see, Ahmed isn’t harmless
like Aaron;
And Mohammed
sounds scary, not safe like Mark.
So we embrace Mark’s Face
And get Mohammed Booked
Into the cell of our madness
Where we all stay trapped
Cuffed and locked up
While the clock goes:
Tick-Tock-Tick…
