#82. Bridget’s Daughter

A Joyous, Wonderful and Blessed Birthday to my Mom ‪#‎SweetMother‬!
There can be no words to capture my love for you, no imagery to depict the majesty of your spirit, and no story weaved to interlace the tapestry of your soul’s journey.

All praise would pale to the expansiveness of your being. You always danced to your heart’s song. You see every human being as a reflection of HE who is not confined in walled spaces. You are not tied to the ordinary things. You are simply the most beautiful woman in my world!

And because of you, I always celebrate the sacredness of motherhood. And indeed WE are all mothers; blessed with unique buds, fruit-bearing seeds, hopes, dreams, gifts, talents, abilities, light and loveMay we birth and nurture them in this lifetime, to our creator’s glory. And also bravely and generously share them with the world within and around us! Bleesed2BEBridget’sDaughter

“I’ve heard it said and I really do believe that a mother and a child are born in the same breath. For when the child is born, only then is the mother brought to life. That woman, who has now become a mother, she never existed before that moment.

And If we understand the real sacred mystery of Motherhood, then we must accept that it is an irrefutable truism that indeed ALL mothers go to heaven. A woman goes empty-handed into the land of the spirits and comes back, transformed into a mother, bearing a sacred gift of life, a proof of the light that exists in the void!”

Happy Birthday Mama

(In celebration of Mama, Ezigbo Nnem): FLOETRY – “Bridget’s Daughter”

To she who:

birthed me within Idi-Araba’s walls of love-soaked pain

bore my pain and turned my face to the sunny rays

guided my path to the divine, sacred tabernacle within

lived by the light of the holy mystics and soul-spirits

dances still with angels, to the silent rhythms of heavenly strings

taught me the beauty of words; written, spoken, unspoken

gifted me with her winged voice until I was ready

to fly to the moon and sing a siren’s song

To she who:

raised me in an atmosphere of sacred silence and simply being,

showed me the veiled symphony of life’s mystery through the ages

shared the blessed, ephemeral trinity; the eternal truth known only to sages

reminded me that HE’s not found in walled spaces

but in the spaces between the spaces,

of  form and formless worlds,

in high and lowly strangers and familiar faces….

To she whose:

image appears when I dream of HIS unconditional love

light shines bright in the shadows, and so gave me permission to shine

embrace, abiding blessing brings

lips, an eternal song of wisdom sings

arms and heart cradled and infused me with love,

(long, long before I knew who and what love is).

Of the many roles, titles, names and path that I’d ever take

Celebrate this profound truth with me,

Acknowledge the vessel who housed my life force; the real koko of my mata

Join me in a love-soaked salute to she whose seed I am honoured to be

Blessed to bear this badge of honour, forever and a full day,

in this lifetime, to be so lovingly called Bridget’s Daughter!
