Floetry by JulietKego. Maya: Dreamer of Dreams

Maya - Dreamer of Dreams

When she shared her dreams,
they laughed and called her a fool.
And she bore none a grudge,
for who was she to judge?
Because, truth be told
deep, deep down in her soul,
even she, laughed and loudest too
at the folly of her wayward dreams.

And one day the laughter stopped,
because her day-dreams flowed
into the streams of those dreams
she’d secretly and quietly dreamed.
And suddenly, all of life
became real; realities of dreams
long-buried and long-abandoned.

Boldly, she woke up cold, dead dreams
and breathed life into old and new dreams.
She’s dancing now, to the lyrical rhythms
of remembered and lost dreams,
of forsaken and forgotten dreams,
of aborted and unbirthed dreams,
of caged and silenced dreams,
now free, to simply BE!

And when she, the dreamer of dreams
share stories of vibrant and living dreams,
we all listen, with a present, keen attention
And together, we clap, slap and laugh out loud,
but no longer in derision at the dreams she weaves.
No, we laugh, dizzy with joy and child-like glee
at the collapsed fears that once held us hostage
to the prisons, behind our dreamless walls of reality!
