#37. Love’s Call

Day 21. NaPoWriMo- Celebrate Poetry, All Month Long!

lovePoem: Love’s Call

(Inspired by the movie ‘The other end of the line’).

A phone call across oceans and continents

I am flushed in strange feelings and sentiments

Lost in the hypnotic patterns and inflections of your voice

The rich timbre, cadence, tone, it drowns the outside noise

I knew not that this was true love’s call, t’was unexpected

It came gently; erupted suddenly, my life’s pace interrupted

Beyond deep rapport, both enaoured smitten, enraptured

Caught up in your trance; life giving us another chance

Hot liquid pools between my thighs; all aflutter in sighs

Ah the sheer indignity of it all; to be fevered after each call

You speak to me and paint pictures I once only dreamed about

Your words expand my world with clarity, no room for ambiguity

I listen with curiosity, with the wonder of one re-awakened

Love came once before and it was cut short in death

And alone and cold, I have ever since mourned

For decades on end, I sat alone, here by my heath

By life and love, so heartlessly and wickedly scorned

Until I heard your soothing voice at the other end of the line

Before I’d been discontent afraid I’d never bloom or shine

And then you said ‘hello’ and this heart knew to follow

And I answered with all of me, to love’s beautiful call

Uprooted, floating, into your arms, I dare to leap and fall.
