This heart
Young and untouched
Innocent and free,
Delightful and expectant
A heart, awakening
A heart at birth!

This heart
Taken and guarded
Intertwined and shared
Reflected from another’s eyes
A heart, fully living
A heart lost in love!

This heart
Broken and bruised
Battered and alone
Lonely and forsaken
A heart, bleeding
A heart on fiery fire!

This buried heart
Long dead and gone
Finished and done
Forgotten and unsung
A heart, suffocating
A heart frozen at death!

This hopeful heart
Returned and regained
Revived and reclaimed
Resurrected and re-wired
A heart, healing
A heart, found in rebirth!
